The Tinta Typeface is a rebellion against sterility and cold perfection. In a time dominated by supersharp offset printing and screen typography, Tipografies embarks on a search of lost warmth. The goal is to recreate the mood of Renaissance printmaking. Tinta utilizes variable font technology to bring back the vulnerable quality of letterforms. A dynamic sans of classical proportions, Tinta is characterized by organic forms with curving contours and flared endings. The serifless roman is complemented by an animated italic. Rather than engaging in a digital copy of the types cut by Jenson or Griffo, Tinta is concerned with capturing the spirit found in works from the 15th century.
