At the beginning of the 1977-78 school year, a team of teachers met at Escola Guillem de Mont-rodon who, faced with the same reality, began to seriously question the learning of reading and writing. This pedagogical concern that they shared generated debates that were based on the personal experience of each teacher, as they came from several schools.
Despite the different perspectives, they all agreed that the legibility of the spellings was one of the biggest difficulties that the students showed when starting this very complex task. Another aspect they noted was the maintenance of a clear and comprehensible handwriting throughout schooling.
These reasons led them to carry out a study of the different types of letters and an analysis of all the spellings with the aim of finding a way to present them to the students. In 2022, the Guillem font continues to be an identity feature of the center and, as a result and coinciding with the school's 50th anniversary, it is consolidated through the creation of the typographic family of the original school scripture.
